![]() ![]() He has always wanted to be an author and also plays the guitar, drums, and bass. His first novel, Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie, was inspired by one of his students, whose brother was battling cancer. Sonnenblick taught 5th grade in Houston, Texas for three years, and 8th grade English at Hackettstown and Phillipsburg Middle Schools in New Jersey for eleven years, before he retired to concentrate on writing books. He frequently visits schools all over the United States, and sometimes internationally, to talk about his books. He now resides in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania with his wife and children. It’s also about first love, photography, dangerous secrets, and Alzheimer’s disease. In 1994, after graduating from college, he married his wife and moved to Pennsylvania with her.
